Start with Potsdam, only 30 to 45 minutes from Berlin. Highlights include the Sanssouci Palace and the New Palace. Why should you choose our day trips from Berlin?
An unforgettable day at Sachsenhausen!
Our trip to the Sachsenhausen Memorial was unforgettable. Our guide, Pete, was excellent and shared many stories about the camp and its history. My family has roots in Germany, and I grew up hearing stories about the war. Being on the site made those stories feel real. It was incredible hearing about all those horrible events that took place there. Glad we booked a guided tour, since the explanations added so much. A truly worthwhile visit.
Family-friendly visit to Potsdam
We’re in Berlin for a week and wanted to see more than just the city, so we booked a trip to Potsdam. Great call. The tour was well organized, the bus was comfy, and our guide was fantastic. The kids loved the gardens. They climbed the vineyard terraces, watched the Great Fountain, and kept counting statues. We liked the Rococo interiors at Sanssouci, especially the Marble Hall and the Voltaire Room. After the palace, we grabbed lunch nearby and were back in Berlin by mid-afternoon. Easy day, pretty views, just enough history. We’d do it again.
Sanssouci Palace is totally worth it!
I was very keen to see the Sanssouci Palace on my trip to Berlin. I’d seen it in photos, but in real life it was even more impressive. Beautiful palace with lovely gardens. The tour was smooth, and the bus ride was comfortable. Our guide was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. I enjoyed the stories about Frederick the Great and the palace’s history. The small group was a big plus, we could all ask questions. The half-day tour was just right since I had other plans in Berlin. Overall, a great tour. Totally worth it!

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Tour from Berlin
Uncover the WWII history
Escape Berlin for a day you will remember. Meet your guide in Berlin, and take a short train to Oranienburg, about 35 minutes away. From the station, a 20-minute walk brings you to the Sachsenhausen Memorial. Your certified guide will lead you through the grounds of the former camp. See Watchtower A, the roll-call square, the former Jewish barracks, the infirmary exhibits, and Station Z, the site of mass executions. Discover the punishment cells, pathology lab, and gallows. Visit the museum in the former administration building and learn how the camp was established in 1936. About 200,000 people were imprisoned here between 1936 and 1945. Tens of thousands died from starvation, disease, forced labor, executions, and other crimes. Hear how the camp operated during the Nazi era and how the Soviets used the site after 1945. Your guide shares accounts of prisoner groups, resistance, and high-profile detainees. There will be time for questions and quiet reflection. INTERESTING FACT
Why do people leave potatoes at Sanssouci?
Frederick the Great promoted potatoes in the 1700s to fight famine, so people nicknamed him the “Potato King.” Visitors leave a potato on his grave as a simple thank-you. You can see the flat stone marked “FRIDERICUS REX” on the upper vineyard terrace by the south side of the Sanssouci Palace, next to his dogs’ graves.
